Ah, good point. Then it's probably as good a time as any to mention Synchronet
has it's own message base format (SMB - Synchronet Message Base). So obviously
I would have to be able to read the headers of that format to get the initials
of the FROM field in order to quote any text that hasn't already been quoted,
and just as well, add a ">" to any previously quoted text, etc..

May I ask why you're choosing Squish? As far as I remember Squish has some
severe limitations which is why many people switched to JAM back in their
heyday. Either way, since I'm using a whole other format, whatever you would do
in this regard would have to be modified anyways.

For some reason, I'm doubting you ever having any kind of "so-called" BBS setup
anymore these days. :)

Also, unfortunately I don't have the option of using the husky stuff with this
message base format, as it's not supported. This is why I was hoping there was
an easy way to do it with bash given a text file Synchronet creates when a
message is replied to.. but now that I say that, it may not be all that easy to
pull anything out of the SMB headers using bash either.

I'll have to keep on digging. :)

Regards,
Nick
