I am not sure what you are asking.  Both msged and nonao have no issues with
ascii but only nano will properly edit and send utf8 characters.  When you
quote back the Møøse with msged it alters the utf8 characters which nano -
and many other editors including old abandaonware 16-bit DOS ones - will honour
as it should even if the host machine cannot properly display utf8 characters.
