J'z, why would MS bother? They already have control of the OS itself, and
their tools development is already using an beta compiler release with
32-bit capability, C++ exceptions, rtti and templates with the same
finely-tuned and very aggressive optimizer that Borland's compiler has
never been able to compete with on any platform. Microsoft was producing
32-bit C compilers in 1987!  If Borland have offered this information, I'm
not sure whether to consider it paranoia or just a very lame excuse.

The beta release I refer to will be eventually released as VC++ 2.0. AFAIK,
it is already available to any accredited NT developer.
