>>> Dennis Menard on Quebec
WE> Yes, and cabbage keeps well.
DM> Root vegetables do fine.
Cabbage, beets, parsnips, turnips, carrots. Hm. Ought to go well with elk.
DM> First Nations folk call us
DM> "White Man" and think we, foolishly, throw away all the best parts of
DM> fish/game we harvest. I reckon they are probably right. :)
Gosh, what are the best parts? Fish heads, eyeballs? Sure are wasteful us
palefaces. Likely we'd find appetite for such if pressed with stringent
living conditions.
DM> Our snow has been light this year; much too light. I dread next
DM> summer if the doesn't increase within the next two months or
DM> so.
Dread? Why? Swarms of mosquitoes? Greenhouse effect is everywhere. We've
had a dry winter also.
WE> Err, no thanks, the most I ever seen is 8 F.
DM> Hmm ... I do not see any negatory indicator preceding that "8 F"; am I
DM> to SUPPOSE, then, that that "8" represents a pository integer (ie,
DM> suppository number)? This morning (Jan 12/98) it is a balmy -20C. +8F
DM> OR C would be a gorgeous spring day. :)
Well it was below zero C, now wasn't it? Three days of 20 F and four inches
of snow. 45 F today and slop all about.
Quebec has taken quite a beating, even worse that the USA east coast.
