| subject: | Lan-Tech / ELAN - AROS III Network |
Some time back a few years there was a thread on the Lan-Tech ELAN network hardware. I used to work at the place in PHX in the late 80's, FWIW.. if there's any other questions. One thing that may or may be of confusion, the host adapters that work in the //e may not work in the IIgs. Some mods had to be done to the cards depending on if they were going in a II+, //e or IIgs. The II+ and IIgs were compatible with each other, though the mods were slightly different. They worked in either/or. The //e OTOH did not work in either of the other two. The second card, the smaller one- goes in the slot where your printer card would go. Thats for ProDOS so that the AROS III would load into the SRAM on the card instead of sitting and eating up motherboard RAM, making ProDOS be just a little less compatible than the other networking products such as D-Card and OmniNet. They were a big user of those Trustor and Sider drives, too. --- SBBSecho 2.12-Win32* Origin: Derby City Gateway (1:2320/0) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 140/1 222/2 226/0 236/150 249/303 SEEN-BY: 250/306 261/20 38 100 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 SEEN-BY: 393/11 396/45 633/260 267 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 2222/700 SEEN-BY: 2320/100 105 200 2905/0 @PATH: 2320/0 100 261/38 633/260 267 |
