I believe that DM and MM seem to take a "sarcastic" approach to
the topic.  But Johnny Cash seems to turn the song around making it a
genuine testamony.

I looked this one up on the 'net and didn't realize that I heard that one
many years ago!  I didn't pay much attention to it then.  It has an
annoying sound and a frantic pace.   But studying the lyric, it looks like
Genesis (Phil Collins) is taking  sarcastic stab at TV-evangelism.  Maybe
they had a particular preacher in mind.
