I'm fairly neutral because 1/2 my family think swearing & even eating
in the street is common & the other 1/2 use the f word in every
sentence (if you've ever seen the Osbournes then it's kinda like that but
with a Northern English/Yorkshire accent). My second cousin can get over
quite complex things with scarcely a non expletive in his words.

I used to get sh*t coming my way when I went to school (an old English
public school) where I had to adjust my accent to match (e.g. stretching my
vowels) & then when I went back up north where I was "Oh laaadida
little lord fauntleroy yuh wanta get down t' f**king pit....".

Then I also had the Arab part of my upbringing (in the Middle East not Arab
family) where talking quietly & deliberately was a sign of power &
control vs the North Yorkshire farming/mining/steel working "let it
all hang out" mentality.

So it's kinda shrug central even where Aussie-Yanks get upset at jokes re
full body searches or Texan Yanks hurl expletives but then I don't bully
easily (as the zigzag nature of my nose will attest).

But go ahead & resist as that's every man's right.
