subject: Error correction

PL> I've been on the local board for four years and never gave error

PL> 1. When I get an error count in the Qmpro DL window is it a bad DL
PL>or did the modem correct the mistake?
PL> I know I "should" know this but I don't. I have a Zoom 14.4 v32/v42
PL>fax modem. I use Qmpro 1.53 (dos version) from Windows 95. I usually
PL>have no error counts but once in a while I get one or two. Should I dl
PL>those files again and dump the first download?

Phill, an error is mostly caused by line noise and Zmodem will send
the block again until the CRC check is OK, the file is good.
If you are cut off in middle of a download and go back online,
Zmodem will start where it left-off.
If you logon with real bad phone connection Zmodem will drop 1024k
blocks to 512k block, it very rare. If this happens, its best to
    logoff and try again.
I hope this will help you,
                                              Fred
