It does what you speak of already. The only time it didn't, AFAIK (and is now
toggleable to not put the tear/origin lines in), is when something like Golded
accesses and alters the local message base (adding it's own tearline/origin)
outside of Synchronet/SBBSecho itself.

Sorry it's not RA, although SBBSecho v3 has now been completely rewritten by
Rob himself. So the "anyone who doesn't even try to work with the software" bit
may now be a thing of the long ago past (since he's been fixing and updating
SBBSecho v2 for quite a few years now - probably to the point where he just
thought it better to rewrite it). If it's a feature request you're interested
in, all you need to do is ask for it.
