A fair amount, and as soon as I get a TV card I'll be doing it a whole lot more.
My kids bought the Stargate DVD collection of the first season of shows (21
episodes) and I've ripped them all to Divx5, took better part of 3 weeks
cpu time. They are getting seasons 2 and 3 for christmas and seasons 4-6
soon as they are available so I've got at least a month of ripping just
from that one show.
Fortunately the encoder I'm using can work in distributed mode so I can
have 3 computers cranking away at the job at the same time (it's got an
encoder job service that makes this easy). But I can see where this is
headed, if I start using the computer like the VHS to record shows while
I'm away or asleep there is going to be a steady stream of jobs for the
encoder to handle.
