Thanks Bob,
I have thought about the bathroom but I am so used to my work area in
the garage, (my second
entertainment room and workshop) I think I will lower the temp. with an AC
unit, besides I do so much
other stuff there it 's kinda overdue that I treat myself to the atmosphere
that my wife and kids live in!!
I will over come and success will come. I did have another question
on my last listing, that is will
a nine inch secondary throat be sufficient for a 9" f/4.7 mirror??? Also
is 75 degrees good enough
for Gugolz 65?? I tried to tell the guy at Salem I wanted 75 but he talked
me into 65, maybe they were
overstocked... Anyway I recieved some hard burgandy pitch from
Willmann-bell today and will try to pour a new lap. I hate doing this since
my original lap was making such nice contact. I may leave the
old lap totally and make a complete new base.
I also recieved the new book.. A manual for amateur Telescope Makers
(copyrite 2003) by
Karine and Jean-Marc Lecleire. I thumbed through and this book is great.
Most all questions concerning
all aspects of mirror grinding and polishing are covered, with detailed
info on testing (more in depth
than Texereau, who is mentioned in the acknowledgements as a major insight)
The book has numerous
charts, photos, and diagrams to lead you from novice to pro.. This book is
really good and I have only
scanned it. There are details on foucault testing with Couder masks and
photos showing null zones
(cool man).. I must stop raving about this book, buy one you will love it.
PS I don't work for Willmann-bell
nor am I french.
