Subject: They're getting the message
hello listers,
Before I sign off for the night I want to end this session by telling you
all about a pleasent experiance that occurred this afternoon at a planning
meeting for the 1997 South Texas Internet Odyssey. Besides being
appointed charman of the adaptive technology committee which was
established this afternoon one of the other team members told of a storry
that ws music to my ears. She told us that one of her children is in a
class for Web Page Designers and that the instructor told them that when
they design Web Pages they must ensure that blind persons will be able to
access them with their adaptive hardware and software.
Up here we talk about the difficulties we're having with accessing the gui
environment, but it is refreshing to know that there are those who have
heard our message and concerns and are enstilling in their students the
need to ensure that we won't be shut out of the Information Superhighway.
I hope we will hear more of these kinds of stories in the future. The
word is getting around and the future is bright with promise.
Take care and have a good weekend.
yours truly,
Peter Donahue
