Hi,
That limitation has always been on ARJ archives and there is no easy way 
around it. Future versions may have a special file display option.  In 
others, if first file in archive is a certain name, ARJ will display it in 
ANSI mode.  
This has the benefit of large compression and an unlimited comment size.
