I haven't seen Surprise by Design. Sounds interesting. Trading Spaces has
taught me one thing - no matter how rich I get I'm not letting a designer
anywhere *near* my house. Some of their designs are good, some suit the
people who have to live there, which is fine even if it wouldn't be my
taste, but some are not only ghastly, they're impossible to live with. The
worst one is Hildi Santo Tamas. Gluing grass to the wall, or plastic flowers
stapled to a bathroom wall, (can you say mould?) or wine labels all over the
walls of a non-drinking Minister's kitchen. Painting furniture with spray
paint (sure it would look good while the cameras are there, then the first
time you sit on it and the paint cracks, then what?) She's more than
irresponsible and uncaring, she's arrogant and disrespectful. She seems to
have no awareness that she's in someone's home. The chance of ending up with
an a*h* like that is what puts me off
