Stoppit Arthur, you're confusing me!  Please excuse my obvious ignorance,
but how the hell can specifically different standardised tones or signals
be used as substitutes for each other?  That's somewhat akin to suggesting
that say V.32bis, V.FC, and V.34 are all identical, and interchangeable, is
it not?
