| subject: | GCC for OS/2 version question |
ML> Seeing as how one looks like one might really need GCC ML> for OS/2 and Linux and whatever .. Yes.... That is one goal. For SqaFix, it would be nice to have GCC running under OS/2 now..... Similar for Squish, but a few more issues for that code.... The Maximus code has even some additional issues with getting the Linux GCC port running back on the OS/2 setup..... ML> I logged in an picked it up from you as well for ML> comparison. The IDZ file in what is on your site is ML> the only difference, I think. BTW .. total 16MB came ML> in in about 11 minutes here. Nice performance from a BBS. Thanks for the comments. Guess I need to up the BPS rate on the telnet net ports that Maximus uses to compute amount of time needed for downloads. BJ> Now I need to add some entries to search paths to use BJ> everything in that package on this box.... ML> If you would, I'd like to keep track of what you ML> discover. In order to move one of my questions to a ML> more appropriate echo about this toolset, I posted in ML> the OS2PROG echo. If you have a suggestion there that ML> would help me and perhaps others .. I'd appreciate it ML> if you would help there. Well, be more straight forward with your message over there.... ML> One of the reasons I would like to begin looking at the ML> MAX source and all is to get some idea of how to solve ML> video problems between platforms that obviously have to ML> be in there. And they are key issues I face in other ML> work I really need to do.. Between what types of platforms? Console video is a bit rough, but running (somewhat) on the Linux port.... We're still working on the user's side of the connection. Since the basics of the console video are working (thanks to Wes), we're looking at other code issues that aren't yet working, or are needed to get a fidonet node running.... Basically, I believe we are using curses (or ncurses) and making sure we run in VT-100 / ANSI-PC terminal mod. Max has built in VT-100 / ANSI-PC terminal support, so trying to use curses to "adjust" to a different terminal type will fail -- dramatically if the other terminal is significantly different from a VT-100 on it's escape sequences. Anyone have an old behive terminal or Haziltine 1500 that would like to join in and help with the Maximus port? Take care....
