Hey Shawn!
SH> Vim is one of my favorites, and I do use it on this box.
It is the default editor here and always has been since first running linux way
back when. I believe the maintainer back then lived in Surrey BC which isn't
too far - as the crow flies - from where I sit typing this message.
SH> (This is a *nix box, just running my fidonet stuff through dosbox
Understood. Decent native apps for linux are definetly lacking when speaking
fidonet.
SH> I'll get off my ass and install the native version of Golded one
SH> of these days when bored.
It doesn't work when it comes to utf-8. vim is infinetly a better option in
conjunction with the multimail offline reader for the curses based stuff
(menus, message lists and the such). Golded is more for MS types methinks.
Personally I prefer WeBeBashing but it definetly isn't user friendly enough to
call it production grade.
SH> They spend more time talking about his shoes and socks...
I guess talking about his hair kind of backfired eh?
SH> The good thing about that is we don't have to listen to his
SH> politics that way.
I heard he considered himself an out of the closet socialist but I see no
evidence that it is nothing more than words without substance which fits better
with being a Liberal, which he actually is. We'll see I suppose but I am
guessing it won't be too long before the truth reveals itself. My best guess
is typical Liberal who steals ideas from the NDP when it becomes a matter of
political survival (eg medicare way back when before he was born).
Life is good,
Maurice
... Don't cry for me I have vi.
