I had the sad occasion to use a professionally build telescope at RTMC this year that had 4 good sized square tubes for supporting the secondary and the thing was a pig to move to any spot as the upper end was flexing over a degree in the sky as you tried to move it from one place to another. The worst part was that the scope was moving fairly easy (I didn't have to hang on the thing to get it to move) and yet, the top end was just a loosely attached thing to the bottom end and thus just bent all over the sky.
