Which is, I see no DD>earthly reason that *military* service, whether as a combat troop, a CO DD>serving as a medic, or someone who is just a REMF, should be a requirement DD>for citizenship. SERVICE to the nation is what I posited as a requirement DD>for citizenship. It might be military service, or it might be sorting DD>buttons in Ketchican, AK. But it NEED NOT be "military" service. I find it disgusting that, in a country where there are elaborate ways to check the ID of someone buying alchohol or tobacco, and there are stiff penalties for using false ID to purchase either one of those products, something as important as voting to elect local and national figures who will determine our policy and how the public moneys gets spent, gets a pass. I cannot imagine under what logic someone like Al Franken would be left in office, were it to be shown he was put there by fraudulent voting. Its the same as a bank robber buying a house with money they took in a bank holdup, getting to keep the house once they are caught! Just as the bank the robber robbed to get the money was illegally deprived of the funds, the majority of voters in an election that is won by the opposite side through fraudulent voting, are deprived of good government. And just as the house would be taken away from the bank robber because it was purchased with stolen money......a person who won political office by fraudulent votes should be removed from that office, and the real winner installed. A far too casual manner of handling voter fraud is in play in this country. And a far too loose a method of voter registration as well. Registering to vote should have a far stricter criteria than it does, as well as stricter supervision of the voter rolls. "You're going to have to kill some crackers! You're going to have to kill some of their babies." ......Samir Shabazz --- *Durango b301 #PE** Origin: Doc's Place BBS Fido Since 1991 docsplace.tzo.com (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 620 848 @PATH: 123/140 500 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
