        I would venture to say so. Otherwise why would the market
  produce them ? Faster maybe ? I have not run any thests on them.

        Go ! I have seen some recently at Bureau en Gros, which is
  Staples here. When I had the dot matrix printers, I bought one
  of these battery screwdrivers and used it to slowly defile the
  ribbon under the nib of an ink bottle to rejuvenate it. I could
  do this maybe 15 times, until the ribbon frayed.
     
 The 10 gigger is working fine.
