There can be significant money in tips.  A friend of mine owns a strip club,
and the dancers work for tips only = and pay the club $40/night so they can
work there.  A popular dancer in a popular club can pull down six dights a year.
It is, however, a short lived career, most are well over the hill by age 30,
although a few stick it out past 40.
