Hm. I remember there was a change in huskybase, some content moved to other
modules. The huskymak.cfg had some changes too, also the format of the
fidoconfig "config" file. (Thats why there is a version keyword
now.)
That is a possible trap. If you try to compile older husky stuff and mix
those files they may not fit correctly. With all files actual stable-RC it
should be no problem.

I can't remember, i think i did it manually. And i have a symbolic link
"husky" in my homedir, pointing to the correct dir.

Right, that is the best of linux, you are the boss and can do it your way. ;-)
The only thing you must do is saying: Trust me, i know what i do!  ;-)

You are the boss. If you have everything up and running without trouble you
do not need to do that.

Me too. :) But if you found the "entry point" it is not that
difficult to follow the way what happend. Just open your eyes - a the right
point. :)
