 VC> /opt/maximus/con.err

Interesting. I mayhave to see if I'm also getting that error..... But the
endian test is working, so, this shouldn't matter...... Hmmmm....

 VC> /opt/maximus/con.log

Ok, looks likeyouare using the default install location....

Ok.....

Did you do anything concerning the bbs user and group? Are all files and
directories involved in the compile and execution owned by the same user
and group?

BJ> What is the environment you are using? [Red Hat version ?]

 VC> Mandrake v9.0 (also have v9.1).

Ok. I don't think we've had this platform tested before. I suspect that
you are running newer tools that Bo or I am in some areas. [We're both
running Debian setups, probably with older GCC compilers, and similar age
for other apps.] So, there might be something in the code that's biting us
with newer tools..... Hmmmm......

BJ> If this is a ./configure script issue, I may need to bug Wes Garland

Looks like the ./configure script is executing ok.....

VC> I could try and compile under Mandrake v9.1 as I have

VC> with fixes. What do you suggest?

You can give it a try, but I suspect you will get similar results.

What's showing up in the logs from a 'make build' after performing a 'make clean' ?

Take care.....
