-> So, tell me about Rowlett. Do you work for a paid service or are
-> you a volunteer? How long have you been an EMT?
Rowlett is where the BBS is that I call; I actually live in Irving, Tx.
I work for MedTrans, who runs exclusive service for Johnson County,
found just south of Ft. Worth. I haven't worked much the last few
months, because I'm fixing to either transfer up to Ft. Worth or go to
another company, but I like working for MedTrans out there. It's pretty
relaxed, yet we get a fairly high percentage of major incidents. I've
worked there about 1 1/2 years, and before that worked about 1 year for
Rural/Metro of Dallas (mostly transfers, but filled in for 911 shifts
when they asked me). I left R/M because of their growing pains and my
desire to step in to the 911 field, though I got alot of good medicine
experience when I was with them. Before R/M, I was a volunteer
firefighter with a small town, and that's when I got into EMS. Was a
EMT for a year, went on to Intermediate school, then ended up moving
back to Irving. I sure miss the firefighting.
I'll have to look up your town on a map. I'm not familiar with the
panhandle at all. Just had a cousin move to Lamesa, and two cousins
live in Lubbock, but that's about it. Pretty bad, since I live'd in
Odessa for 18 years and in Texas for 26! Hehe.
I thought if you gave a self-addressed-stamped-envelope to your testing
site when you tested, they would send you an unofficial test result
within a week. Or, is that just for paramedics? Oh, well. Be sure and
let us know when you pass! (Positive thinking here!)
