Wal-Mart is certainly not the only offender, just he most visible one. I bought a Barrington bed frame from Sears - made in mainland China. When I worked in the Red Oak Doit Center (Doit Centers are a midwest chain of home improvement stores, usually located in smaller towns and cities) everything in the place - including nails - was imported (lumber is imported from Canada except for mahogany underlayment, which is imported from Malaysia). I don't think there was a single product in the store that was made in USA - and I looked. --- FleetStreet 1.19+* Origin: Bob's Boneyard, Emerson, Iowa (1:300/3) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 620 848 @PATH: 300/3 116/901 3634/12 123/500 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
