Dear Bardies,

I hate to come in here with a prayer request -- it seems as if I only post 
when I need something, but I don't mean to be that way.  It's just that I 
don't allow myself to read mail as often as I used to, because it's tough 
taking care of my mom *plus* the house *plus* trying to write . . . heck, I 
don't even have a totem animal yet (it can't be any of the sentient 
ones--that much is obvious by now).

But my mother just begged me to "put her on the prayer chain," so I feel I 
must come in here again and ask that those of you who believe please say a 
prayer for her (Jodie).  She's going to be checked to make sure her colon 
cancer from a couple of years ago hasn't recurred--she's had a few 
symptoms, and they're going to do one of the more advanced tests 
(yuck--some of you know what I mean), and she's terrified.  It's tough for 
me, not being a mom, to have to be the parent for my mother.  Many of you 
definitely know what that's like.  However, it's fine--I think I cope with 
it all fairly well.  (Not!!)  After the health problems we've both had, she 
and I are a little fazed by anything out of the ordinary.

Anyway.  I really would appreciate it, and so would Jodie, if you'd take a 
moment the next time you're in a quiet place and put in a good word for 
her, think positive thoughts, send energy, or whatever.  We're always 
willing to return the favor, BTW (if you want to send requests privately, 
that's probably better than publicly begging, like me.:)  Not to make it 
sound all serious, 'cause we hope it isn't, but the test is coming up and 
she wanted me to ask.  Thanks in advance!
