This listing is for Byron A. just to cut the stream since it way so
long. He listed some figures of
his surface and was concerned on which way to go. He mentioned a raised
center and other abnornal
things on the surface. I believe that his surface was incomplete of the
normal polishing process.
Byron I know you had other listings and much information. I thought you
had a 8" mirror but you are
working on a 6" mirror. The size of the mirror is not important to get
the best figure. They all look the same in the tester,.. Good or Bad., big
or small. Byron a 16" crummy mirror cannot give an image that comes
close to a 6" perfected work of art. Keep figuring your 6" and
get it right, It will teach you alot and give you many clearer views than
your Meade.. Not to put down Meade but they don't privately figure mirrors
to your
tester. Byron keep polishing and looking at your surface, a 6" mirror is
not small.
If the center does not smooth out, check out your lap contact, spacing,
temperature... These are all of
my problems except contact. High temps. will cause the channels to close
way too soon. The soft pitch
turned the edge of my mirror while polishing. Just some thoughts to ponder..
