For me, Quicken is a real time SAVER. Since I began using it in 1990, it has 
simplified my life :-)
Now, I use it for any and all financial activity, I don't carry checks or a 
paper check register.
Routine purchases are done with plastic or cash with receipts being entered 
once a week.
With rare exception, my income items are memorized and scheduled.
Same for most routine payments - I use bank drafts for insurance, utilities, 
notes & mortgages etc. I pay all variable bills using online bill payment.
Tax returns completed through data transfer.
Memorized reports give me useful pertinent information when I need to make 
decisions.
I had to write a hand check once this year. I entered it that evening.
I'd hate to go back to paper.
