She did worse than paint over the brick, she glued broken glass to it as well. It was completely hideous, and I doubt anyone could live in it, not even Hildi. I'd like to see a show called "after Trading Spaces" to take a look at the rooms after a year or so to see if any of the design elements stay at all, and if so, how long they lasted. I'm willing to be that nearly all of Hildi's efforts are eliminated within days. > I did like Genevieve's kitchen makeover that >incorporated plates with photos on them - of kids, of old relatives. She turned one couple's basement into a replica of his mother's log cabin, and had him almost in tears - and his wife was not displeased, either, though she looked a little surprised by how hard it had hit him emotionally >Trading Spaces is good for ideas, but... no way in hell would I trust those >designers loose in my house. Even Vern. No, no, no. > Genivieve is too woodsy for me, though I bet Lisa could live happily in one of her creations. Laurie is too flamboyant and not restful enough (my home has to be a haven from stress, not a stimulation) Doug's good designs are something I could live with, but it's too chancy that he'd decide to do something like paint the fireplace and be immovable about it, Frank is too country for my living room, but he'd make the office or a bedroom something fun (and at least he only uses paint - if you don't like it you don't have to repair walls like you do with Laurie and Hildi who staple fabric to walls and ceilings) but I think Vern would be capable of making a classic style that would warm the cockles of my little heart. If nothing else, I could trust him not to ruin my home. >darkelf, territorial > Laurie my tolerances have such a narrow range I wouldn't risk it Phoenix > --- Rachel's Little NET2FIDO Gate v 0.9.9.8 Alpha* Origin: Rachel's Experimental Echo Gate (1:135/907.17) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 135/907 123/500 106/1 379/1 633/267 |
