Last really good shoes I bought (other than the oil tanned Red Wing wellies) was a pair of "Flying" Jodhpurs from Navarro Bros. of El Paso, TX. And they were made by Tres Caballos in Mexico. I paid U$110 back in 1982. Just tracked down a source and the same boot is now U$385. Heck, we used to have a shoe factory within a mile of where I live currently.
