Ah, yes.... I've run into programs like that.....
JD> Just for the heck of it, I used Edit on a files.bbs.
JD> Moved all the comments up, to be one looooooong line on
JD> the same line as the filename.ext.
JD> Now, when searching with Max, it can find any word in the description!
JD> I believe this is what you described in your reply.
While that is one method, that isn't what I'm using.
I actually have multi-line file descriptions that are working. Second, and
all following lines start with a certain number of blanks (spaces, not
tabs), then a vertical bar character ("|"), a space and then the
continuation of the file description. The L)ocate command will search and
list all of the file description. The F)ile command, when limiting based
on date or name, will only give the first line of the file description.
JD> I just looked around in the config of FeBBS, and didn't
JD> see a way around its description line limit. Need to
JD> review that a little closer....
See if it has a way of handling continuation lines. If you can add
spaces, followed by a vertical bar ("|"), followed by a
single space before the continuation lines, then you can solve the problem
and still use the program. I don't remember what should be.....
21 or 22 seems to come to mind.... Hmmmm.... On counting, looks closer to
29 leading spaces. Max strips the vertical bar before displaying the
output, and may also perform some line wrapping if needed.... I don't
remember.... I set this up some time ago.....
JD> Again, thanks for the refresher! :)
Your welecome.
Take care.....
