pretty cool, but I think your view of how important that kind of capability
is to the average user is skewed because Sony's attention was not focused
on a driver that is used by maybe a percent or two of their memory stick
market. Do you really think that bug would have existed if that driver were
being used by 95% of Sony's memory stick customers?
In a consumerized market, if a product doesn't work you return it and buy a
make that does work. I don't think linux has really hit
"consumerized" yet so perhaps your view will change once that
happens?
Look at the video card market, drivers rule, the company with the best
drivers and cards takes the big chunk of the market.
