-> That is a thought.... but I mostly want to decide if I want to go
-> through the engine or not before doing anything else with it. There w
-> quite a bit of "soot" on the intermediate section of the out-drive. N
-> sure if it's from a bad carb, or maybe the engine might need a bit of
-> internal work.
Possibly a little of both?
Seems that a lot of them have a problem with the choke not wanting
to open up good and letting them run a bit rich.
-> I'd like to pull it apart and at least put all new gaskets in it and
-> repaint it all. That way I'd have a nice fresh power plant to drop in
-> mine should the need arise.
Good winter project. :)
-> JK>Sure would like to win that thing, talked with a lady yesterday
->   >that has a just the vessel I have been wanting, a 43ft Hatteras
-> >that is sitting and doing nothing.
->
-> Sounds about like what I'd like to eventually have. Something in the
-> 40-60 foot range with a couple of state-rooms and central air.
That is what this one has, 2 staterooms with head and full gally
the whole ball of wax.
->
-> I ran it a little while yesterday to warm up the gear oil before
-> changing it. To the naked eye, it does seem that the prop spins faste
-> at an idle than it did before.
That is a good indication, perhaps the gearing will be right now.
-> If you were not so busy with packing stuff, I'd try to get the two of
-> you to make a land trip up this way and stay over Saturday night. The
-> y'all could go out with us tomorrow for the "test drive".
Sounds good, but still a lot of last minute things to get
done here as well. Even had to turn down a fishing trip yesterday
to be able to finish up here.
->
-> I can fully relate to this. I don't miss the winters from north Alaba
-> a bit. I'd much rather have 70's in late December than 20's.
Well you can tell how I am with the cold, I am really going south
for the winter.
