Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 2 should be more than sufficient, but
requires Mac OS X 10.5.4.  If you don't have any plans to upgrade,
then as long as you have a JRE that is java 1.5 (aka Java 5)
compatible you should be okay.   Getting RXTX to work properly might
be kind-of sticky, but it's analogous to what you'd have to do to get
ADT Pro working.
