I've been able to dive into Raspbian and fiddle with its configuration
using the standard Debian documentation so, if anything has weird network
configuration, its more likely to be Ubuntu. Especially as Ubuntu is
known to have gone off-piste wrt Debian in other areas.
Disclaimer: my other Linux boxes run Fedora rather than Ubuntu. My sister
uses Ubuntu from time to time so I have installed and played with it. I
intend to continue using Fedora and Raspbian for all my computing needs.
