Hey Gang
        This may sound goofy but the way I remember (and explain) the
difference between fast and slow objectives is, for any given aperture the
smaller f values gives a shorter focal length, therefore getting the light
to my eye "faster".
        It may not be how the term came about but I think it's technically
correct and easy to remember.
