Heh, heh. Actually yes if the bossnode expects it to be that way. In my
case I am the boss of the bossnode so I am in the driver's seat and get to
decide everything that happens at the point level. I have binkd running on
the node so I really don't need it on my points off there. Also it isn't a
dialup node so doing everything tcpip-ish is best.

FTD> Ftp is something to have in mind, yes.

I use it all the time so it makes sense to use it for pointing as well. I
never use binkd so it makes no sense to use it for pointing. ftp is best.

FTD> I would prefer to use the standard Fido soft first. If something in

If you're dialup and don't run a ftp site then that is best. However here
that isn't the case so ftp is best. The node has binkd for those links and
only those links that don't know better. Hopefully the binkd running on
the internet (unpriviledged user) won't screw up the server. If I see
anything odd there then it is easy enough for me to delete it and not offer
that service. It isn't that big of a deal to me but ftp is.

Does that make sense?

Understood. Not much help out there is there?

 FTD> Now, that's a short, concise and to-the-point description :)

Heh, heh. Yeah I liked that one too. ;-)

I am a bad, bad boy.

Right. I agree. ftp wins again!!! ;-)

FTD> Do you happen to know how far the plan to make a
FTD> "What do I need for a point?" doc which was Under

No. I recall seeing it but don't know what happened to it. Do you think
we should colaborate on bringing it back to life? I am willing if you are.

FTD> Ok, will have a go at configuring a point through ftp to see how it
 FTD> works.

Whatever is most convenient for you is the best. For me that is ftp but
perhaps binkd is better for you? Either way I can help.

FTD> Hey, you could try and write a tutorial, eh, Maurice? ;)

With your help yes. Otherwise I already know how so I don't really need
one and may end up confusing myself if I did. :-)

MK>> Obviously not. My list gives the barebones minimum relating to

FTD> Yes. Not being skilled with the system and a few diffrent programs
FTD> to configure makes a bit hard to understand.

I understand. You'll get there I am sure.

FTD> Thank you, Maurice. You're being veru helpful.

You are most welcome.

Life is good,
Maurice
