        My 4 systems run XP. ( I got an "in" with MS and got 4
  keys to be legal. ) As I said in my previous post, problem is
  solved.

        This was a full-sized HD, James. The mini-iPod might use
  the 12.5 or even maybe the 9.5mm. I no know ! But this one was a
  bona-fide 3.5" HD and it is going great now.

        Funny that the plates are described as 2.5" or 3.5" and
  the device itself in mm. Standardization no less.

     
 The 10 gigger is working fine.
