As one who has lots of trouble getting page numbers to do what I want them to 
do you [and others] may think it odd that I should even think of answering 
your request for help. However, I have done a trial this morning and got the 
first two pages to print without page numbers and the third page to print 
with Page # 1 as follows: 
 
a. At end of page 2 insert a division break. Format that division to have no 
page numbers. 
 
 b. At END of your work, insert another division break. Format that break to 
have page numbers starting at #1. 
 
This trial successful with Word 5 and 6.
