No soldering Mike. Locate where the Bell entrance terminal is;
disconnect the in house connections from it; run a twisted pair
from the Bell entrance terminal to the Telco socket entrance of
the modem; use the existing pair to connect from the Phone socket
of the modem down to the house connections removed from the Bell
entrance terminal.
If you have a USR Sportster (and possibly other then Digitran modems
not heard from as yet) the house wireing that acts as an antenna for
all matter of offending interference signals will no longer be connected
to the modem to offend your cps throughputs.
Ciao, Ack.
