IDE drives are at best marginally acceptable for workstation
use. They are definately not server class. Plus the IDE
interface is substantially slower than any SCSI interface.
You are crippling this server for speed and risking all data
by using IDE.

Apply all NetWare patches and the latest flash BIOS from the
manufacturer. If this mainboard does not correctly
auto-register memory then get one that does. (FIC boards
with VIA chipsets and Award BIOS work with NW4.11.) If
NetWare cannot auto-register the memory it is because the
mainboard/BIOS do not conform to the standards.

You can find all NetWare patches at
http://support.novell.com/misc/patlst.htm.

You can search the Novell Knowledgebase at
http://support.novell.com/search/kb_index.htm. In the
knowledgebase you will find TIDs on getting memory to
register correctly.
