subject: Australian USR Courier x2 upgrades

-= Pete Replied to David Drummond about: Australian USR Courier x2 upgrades =-

G'day David

 DD> . . .[chomp]. . .

RB> Modems upgraded onsite at USRobotics Pty Ltd

 > Well, that stuffs that. What do I use while my modem is in
 > Melbourne. Didn't I post the registration form back???

HM> Hang on, wasn't this meant to be just a flash upgrade for you
HM> mob? Can't see a good reason why only USR are qualified to run a
HM> program to flash the modem.

DD> It is a Flash upgrade. The "return to USR" is either a money
DD> making scheme, or to stop one handing on the SDL to someone who
 DD> hasn't paid.

My money's on the 'Money making scheme' line, I can't see any reason
why they can't adopt the same system that USR are using in the states.

DD> AAMOI I already have the US/Domestic X2 SDL on the BBS
 DD> (USX2SDL.EXE 900k) - one needs a "key" to enable X2.

Well they can stick the X2 side of it in their bum i'm just not
interested in it though i would like some updated V34/FAX code in my
Austel Courier.

     Pete.
