Hmmm.... mine are brighter than that. I can see mine quite well.

RK> I'm getting about 2800 cps or so..is that tops? And does anyone know
On a 28.8 connect you should be able to get around 3200 cps. So you're not
getting a very good transfer speed -IF- that's on a 28.8 connect.

RK> so, a good setup for this modem? It isn't listed in my list of modems

RK> AT&F1. Any help would be appreicated. And I know this is a stupid
Here's where part of the problem might be. What do you have for a port rate
with netscape? On a 386, windows is going to be working a lot to keep the com
port from overflowing and running netscape at the same time. Netscape is a
pig on memory and CPU resources. Are you using the dialer that came with
netscape?
I can't remember off hand, and don't have the manual handy, but doesn't &F1
load the software flow control setup?
RK> request, but any way to soup up the intensity of the lights on the
RK> front?
Are all the lights dim or just the SD/RD lights? If you're receiving small
blocks of data, I suppose they could be oscilating fast enough where it looks
like they are dim???
Post your configuration and maybe someone can help you set it up a little
better. Post the values from at\s and \s1
... DOS never says "EXCELLENT command or filename"...
