With Quicken checks, I think you'll find that it saves you
time, besides the organizational advantages. I keep a
"walking around" checkbook with numbers about 5000 off of the
Quicken checks. Use a cash draft or charge card when you can,
make out a few hand-written checks and you'll find you can
pay the bulk of your transactions in one sitting at the
computer. The majority of those computer-generated checks are
repetitious transactions that will be 90% automated, too. I
take the time on the first writing of a Quicken check to a
vendor to add the account number in the memo and put the
address on the check. I use window envelopes and from that
point on, I no longer need to address any payment to the
vendor/store/person/utility, etc.
