I did reply, then lost my upline feed for close to another week; so
you may have received it in a crossing post. But to restate - in acid
soils, the sulfur may cause damage to the peppers. I did a double row
experiment a few years ago, with one side getting the matches, the
other none. The Matches side all died. I replanted more peppers in
the same spots, and they did poorly. The Unmatched side did fine.
Peppers need very little fertilizer, but are waterhogs until the
peppers are ripening. A good mulch is a good idea in soils inclined
to get dry, or that have great swings in moisture levels. (Mulches
also help prevent withered or sunburnt peppers to some extent.)
