I did take a course in this stuff back in the early 70's - it was some 
sort of coefficient that evaluated the probability of the outcome as the 
result of chance or uncontrolled factors.  If I get a chance to crawl 
into the attack one day, to see if my old textbook is still there, I'll 
see if I can find it.
