I have come across a photo found in the bottom of a box of an old
speedway midget. I am looking for anybody who may know somewthing about
it. It is car No 32 powered by a long motor suggest 6 cylinder with
exhaust on RHS of motor (maybe Studebaker or Plymouth).
The only other identification is that a Don Hobson was the mechanic
(written on the RHS of the car).
It appears that the car is of US origin. The car has what I know as
Halibrand knock off wheel all way round which was unusual for Aus at
that time. Suggested time frame 1950's. No roll frame on car. Also car
has a cast grill, which suggests to me that it is of Us origin. In Aus.
at that time we fabricated our grills from mesh or strip steel.
Although the photo suggests that it was taken in Australia.
(There is a corrugated iron fence in he background.)
ANY suggestions would be appreciated.
