Goran
It sounds like you didn't waterproof it well enough. I would rebuild it with
more than one layer of particle board and 3-4 coats of a spar varnish, then
apply the arborite.

Subject: ATM Turntable materials?

I have to quit the barrel dance. It is summer and the kids are coming home from
their studies bringing boy/girlfriends and only friends. The house is filling up and
there is no space for my barrel.

I built a turntable and a base from plastic covered (something like ebony star but
white) particle board, 19 mm thick. After only a few sessions I notice that
both the turntable and the base are convex, not plane. This might also
explain
my not being able to lengthen the ROC with the tool on top.

What materials are you folks using for turntables and bases, and what thickness?
