Back before the internets when I'd have big blocks of paid time, I used to
make a QWK packet from a couple of days previous on my BBS and play
catch-up on messages on an old Toshiba T1100 [1] - the 8086 model with the
glow-ey screen and "real" keyboard.. I remember uploading a 40-reply
packet, people must have wondered what the hell was going on!
