That is a thought.... but I mostly want to decide if I want to go
through the engine or not before doing anything else with it. There was
quite a bit of "soot" on the intermediate section of the out-drive. Not
sure if it's from a bad carb, or maybe the engine might need a bit of
internal work.
I'd like to pull it apart and at least put all new gaskets in it and
repaint it all. That way I'd have a nice fresh power plant to drop into
mine should the need arise.

Sounds about like what I'd like to eventually have. Something in the
40-60 foot range with a couple of state-rooms and central air.

Need any help? ;-)

Hoping it will be at least.

I ran it a little while yesterday to warm up the gear oil before
changing it. To the naked eye, it does seem that the prop spins faster
at an idle than it did before.
If you were not so busy with packing stuff, I'd try to get the two of
you to make a land trip up this way and stay over Saturday night. Then
y'all could go out with us tomorrow for the "test drive".

I can fully relate to this. I don't miss the winters from north Alabama
a bit. I'd much rather have 70's in late December than 20's.
